Presentation

The Marne, the Therouanne, and the Ourcq canal flow at the footsteps of woody hills. The large wheel of the elevatory factory of Villers-les-Rigault, in use since the 19th century, is worth the trip.

Coderando 77 itinerary. Marked red & white for numbers 1 to 4 and 6 to 7, yellow for numbers 4 to 6.

1) From the train station, turn right, follow the rue de Trilport to the left. After the memorial, turn right. Go down towards the road and turn left. Cross the river and turn right. At the level of the elevatory factory, head left, join the canal and walk alongside onto the bridge.

2) Cross the canal, continue for 150m and turn off left into the woods. Cross the canal, turn right and join the road. Take it to the right, turn left and turn off right.

3) At the T shaped junction, turn left. At the cemetery, follow the road to the left, and turn right on the towpath to join Varreddes.

4) Take the D405 on the left and enter town. Head left, cross the D121 and continue until reaching a crossroad.

5) Follow the road to the left, cross the Marne and, after the bridge, go down on a path to the left. In front of the memorial, turn right rue de l’Eglise. In front of the church, turn right then left. Enter the woods, walk for 150m, then fork right. Cross the D17, continue for 100m and turn off left a first time.

6) Turn off left a second time, take the route de la Marche to the left and reach a crossroad. Almost go back and cross the railroad. Turn left, then right route de Sapajou and join the route de Gesvres.

7) Follow it to the left. At the edge of the woods, go down on the left. Before the level crossing, turn right two times and continue straight onto the train station.
